Hi,
The autopsy report has come back and it was a cot death. There has been a feeling of relief for dear Emma and Andy as naturally they have been berating themselves that it could have possibly been their fault (like any good parent would think- you would naturally begin asking yourself whether you had done something wrong, could it have been prevented etc.) Legally though the case remains open and tests continue but they have what they need and baby Marianna was released to the funeral directors yesterday evening.
The funeral director visited them herself which was kind and she is very nice. There was a few hot moments when we couldn't tally everything together and were offered a ridiculous date of the 19th! I did some phoning and beseeching to the funeral director and she has managed to change it to the 13th May- next Thursday. This will be exactly two weeks since that terrible day.
Emma has chosen a tiny white coffin with a blue inlay for Our Lady. Both she and I and the girls are wearing blue and white for the funeral. On Monday she has asked me to accompany her to the funeral director's to place the things in the baby's coffin (we won't see her). They have already taken the darling little dress and bonnet I had handmade for her and Marie's booties as Emma wants her dressed in this and this is the first thing the funeral place does as they don't like to move bodies too much.
So, it's been a hard day again but at least there is a date for the funeral, something to aim for and it will be very beautiful.
Please keep praying (if you can) for the family, they are being so strong and have lots of support but it is so so tragic.
Much love,
Amanda

Hi Amanda,
I have had to arrange and sit through the funeral of my own child eleven years ago and so I understand so much of what you and beautiful Marianna Rose' parents are going through.
You are in my thoughts every single day x x x

Amanda, thank you for keeping us all updated, it must be so hard for you to come on here with the news. It sounds like you have all made the difficult decisions regarding the funeral, and wearing blue and white, so appropriate. Glad they have managed to get an earlier date, they did the same with my friend's son, normally a 2 week wait. Will be praying for the family, and everyone who loves Marianna Rose x x x BARBARA

Thank you Amanda for posting and telling us how things are.
You are such good friend to Emma and Andy helping out with arrangements like you are, it must be such a help to them while they are grieving for their Angel.
You are never far from my thoughts Amanda, please take care of yourself and your precious bump.
Sending love to you all.

Thank you Julie for your lovely message, everyone has been so wonderfully kind and caring.
I am very sick and the strain is wearing, especially as I had to drop Mark at the station at 1pm today. We had our May procession so iw ent alone which wasn't as lovely as it would have been had Mark been there of course...
Everything is so concentrated on Thursday that I am very afraid they will all fall apart afterwards- it can happen...but please God with all our prayers and support they will manage.
I am ringing the Dr's tomorrow as I must find out the results of this urine test once and for all- very unhappy no one has let me know either way....
Hope you're feeling well?
Much love,
Amanda

Hi,
Mark isn't home until Tues eve and he's primised to go straight to Emma and Andy's, Andy is still very needy and hates being alone and even if there are other friends/family there, he loves seeing Mark (he is very easy going!).
My knees are swollen and aching a bit but nothing at all what they were once so I have to put this down to the pregnancy which is exceptionally odd as it has been like this for weeks, and usually the pregnancy doesn't suppress until a little later...but I am very grateful of course. The hip does twinge and soemtimes I get that back and groin type pain but it isn't severe. I don't take any meds at all! wow.
I will ring tomorrow, Julie, I just hope I don't need anti-biotics, haven't taken any since a teen! LOL
Much love,
Amanda
